Appearance

Pez is a plump infant crowned with long pink hair. Oddly for a baby, he sports the same light stubble his father wears, and a pacifier shaped like a cigar sits in his mouth. A small black fedora modeled on Bege's hat tops his head, and his onesie is blue with a white collar. His earliest anime appearance gave him black hair, a black-and-green onesie, and no stubble before the colors were brought in line with the manga.

Personality

Much like any other baby, he breaks into giggles whenever his father pulls funny faces. Loud noise and violence upset him quickly, leaving him in tears when his parents are threatened. He also seems to recognize his own relatives even when meeting them for the first time, beaming with joy at reunions and crying when family members come under attack.

History

Pez came into the world some time after Bege and Chiffon wed. As an infant he was brought along to the northeastern shore of Whole Cake Island, where Bege intended to execute Pekoms; a silly face from his father made him laugh, though he wailed again once the shot rang out. Days afterward he slept in Chiffon's arms as the Fire Tank Pirates met the Straw Hats, waking and crying during Bege's briefing before his father lulled him back down.

When the strike against Big Mom collapsed, Chiffon carried him inside Bege's Big Father fortress as the Emperor pounded it, and he sobbed throughout the siege. The crew broke free and split from Luffy's group, and Chiffon left Pez in his father's care to go help finish a replacement wedding cake. Later, at Cacao Island, Pez cheered as Bege rescued Chiffon from Oven, reunited happily with his mother, and lit up at the sight of his grandfather Pound, only to cry again when Oven struck the man down. After the cake lured Big Mom to Funwari Island, Pez and his parents slipped away by tarteship. News of Luffy's exploits later left the boy delighted.
