Chapter 119, Makeshift, returns the injured Dorry to his endless duel while Baroque Works rigs the result, snares Zoro and Nami in wax, and steers the giants' clash toward a treacherous ending in Little Garden.
With Usopp cheering him on, Brogy heads off to renew his fight against Dorry, and Nami abandons the dangerous return to the ship in favor of finding Luffy at Dorry's camp. Determined that nothing stop the duel, Dorry drops the entire mountain over Luffy, declaring that no wound releases him from a battle his god commands. Luffy cannot understand throwing one's life away for a god in such an unfair contest, and Dorry replies that the boy fails to grasp the highest honor of Elbaph. The two giants then face each other again, and Vivi is struck by how deeply Luffy frets over a giant he barely knows.
Plotting against their targets, the Baroque Works officers move to kill Dorry first, then bait the crew into a snare, with Mr. 3 holding photographs that identify Vivi along with Luffy, Zoro, and Nami. Stranded after a triceratops hunt, Zoro spots what looks like Nami resting against a tree, but the figure makes no sound and only smirks. The genuine Nami, meanwhile, is fleeing a dinosaur with Usopp when she approaches a Luffy lookalike propped on a trunk and shrieks at what it truly is. Hearing the scream and unable to find her, a panicked Usopp races out to Luffy and Vivi insisting a dinosaur devoured Nami, prompting Vivi to suspect Baroque Works has followed them and rigged the exploding rum.
Both Zoro and Nami are seized by Mr. 3's wax, with Mr. 5 and Miss Goldenweek aiding the operation. Dorry sits only at a slight disadvantage against Brogy until Mr. 3 decides to meddle, spreading a slippery white substance beneath the giant's foot that makes him slip and opens him to a finishing strike from Brogy. The cover closes the Diary of Koby-Meppo, showing Bogard handily besting both Koby and Helmeppo together in a two-against-one drill while Garp looks on, a reminder of the distance still separating them from a true Marine. The chapter is part of the Little Garden Arc.
