Katsuyuki Konishi

Konishi lends his voice to Sheepshead in the Japanese version of One Piece, one of many anime credits across his long career as a working voice actor. His casting reflects a resume built largely on tough, commanding, or larger-than-life characters, a type well suited to the wide range of personalities populating the Grand Line. The role sits alongside decades of similarly toned parts he has played across other major franchises.

Konishi hails from Wakayama and has worked professionally since the mid-1990s, when he debuted voicing Volfogg in the mecha series GaoGaiGar. His signature performances include Laxus Dreyar (Fairy Tail), Tanktop Master (One Punch Man), and Kamina, the hot-blooded lead of Gurren Lagann; earlier in his career he spent years playing Phoenix Ikki through the Hades saga of Saint Seiya. More recent credits find him voicing Diavolo in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and both Keigo Asano and Shuhei Hisagi in Bleach, work that helped earn him the Best Supporting Actor prize at the 2015 Seiyu Awards.
