Kibito is the Attendant Supreme Kai of Universe 7, serving as bodyguard and loyal companion to Shin. A tall, red-skinned member of the Glind race, he is deeply devoted to his duties and possesses the ability to heal injuries and teleport across vast distances.
Kibito serves the Supreme Kai Shin with unwavering loyalty, functioning as both bodyguard and personal assistant. His devotion to his master borders on the reverent; he considers Shin's safety and dignity to be his highest priorities and reacts with genuine distress when either is threatened. This protectiveness sometimes manifests as an overestimation of the divine hierarchy's power, as Kibito initially expected Shin to handle threats like Majin Buu with relative ease.
When Shin brought Kibito to Earth to investigate Babidi's activities during the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, Kibito's abilities were put on display. He can heal injuries through touch, restoring even severe damage in moments, and his Instantaneous Movement technique allows him to teleport across planetary and even cosmic distances. These support abilities made him invaluable during the Buu crisis, even though his combat power was not sufficient to challenge the major threats directly.
During the tournament, Kibito was killed by Dabura, who turned him to stone and then shattered him. He was later revived with the Dragon Balls, only to be fused with Shin through the Potara earrings into Kibito Kai. This fusion lasted until the events of Dragon Ball Super, when the Namekian Dragon Balls were used to separate the two.
After being restored to his individual form, Kibito resumed his role as Shin's attendant without missing a beat. The separation did not diminish his loyalty or alter his fundamental character. He continued to accompany Shin during major events, providing support and counsel from the Sacred World of the Kai.
In Dragon Ball Daima, Kibito plays a role in the new storyline set after the defeat of Buu, demonstrating his continued relevance to Universe 7's divine governance. His healing abilities and teleportation remain useful tools for the Supreme Kai, and his presence serves as a stabilizing force for Shin, who sometimes lacks the confidence and experience that his position demands.
Kibito's character arc across the series is subtle but consistent. He begins as an almost imperious figure who underestimates mortal fighters and overestimates the gods' ability to handle threats. Through witnessing the Z Fighters' courage and sacrifice against Majin Buu, he develops a grudging respect for mortals that deepens over time. His journey reflects a broader theme within the Supreme Kai storylines: that divine authority does not automatically confer wisdom, and that the gods of Dragon Ball are often at their best when they learn from the mortals they oversee.
