Old Friends and New Threats

Goku arrives at Capsule Corporation just as Bulma returns home from school. She greets him warmly and invites him inside along with the police officer who escorted him. Goku meets Dr. Brief for the first time, then follows Bulma to her room where she quickly repairs his Dragon Radar. She also demonstrates her latest invention, the Micro Band, a wristband that shrinks the wearer to a tiny size. A comedic accident occurs when Bulma's mother, Bikini, enters with drinks and accidentally steps on the shrunken Bulma.

The Hasky Assignment

At Red Ribbon Army Headquarters, Commander Red and Staff Officer Black hire a renowned thief named Hasky to steal the two Dragon Balls in Goku's possession. Hasky is confident and cunning, accepting the job without hesitation.

Heading to Dream Land

Bulma takes Goku on a tour of West City via the Flying Nimbus, shrinking herself with the Micro Band to ride in Goku's shirt since she lacks the purity to sit on the cloud. They meet up with Yamcha, Puar, and Oolong in the shopping district. Bulma overhears Yamcha's friends badmouthing her and pops out of Goku's shirt to yell at him. Despite the tension, the whole group heads to Dream Land, a newly built amusement park. As they approach, Goku senses someone watching them. He shrugs it off, but Hasky is already tracking their every move.

Reunion at Capsule Corp

The reunion between Goku and Bulma is a warm callback to their original adventure. Bulma has grown into a tech-savvy teenager with her own inventions, while Goku remains the same innocent, battle-hardened kid. Their dynamic has not changed, and that is what makes it work so well.

The Micro Band Reveal

Bulma's Micro Band introduction is both a fun gadget showcase and a setup for comedy gold throughout the episode. Her getting stepped on by her own mother while shrunken is the perfect demonstration of the device's risks, delivered with impeccable slapstick timing.

Hasky's Shadow

Hasky's introduction as a hired professional raises the stakes differently than the brute-force encounters at Muscle Tower. She is calculating and patient, preferring to observe her targets before striking. Her presence at Dream Land as the episode closes creates anticipation for a very different kind of confrontation.

Familiar Faces, New Gadgets

This episode marks the first appearances of Dr. Brief and Bikini, Bulma's parents, as well as the interior of Capsule Corporation. Hasky debuts here as an anime-exclusive character; she and the Dream Land storyline have no manga counterpart.

The Micro Band will play a recurring role in upcoming episodes, particularly in Master Roshi's schemes. A Tori-Bot, Akira Toriyama's self-caricature, can be spotted hanging from a tree in the Capsule Corporation garden, and Baragon from the Godzilla franchise makes a brief cameo.
