Captain Dark's Red Ribbon squad attacks Kame House, but Master Roshi effortlessly defeats them. When a soldier holds Launch at gunpoint, Turtle triggers her sneeze transformation, and Bad Launch finishes the job. Meanwhile, Goku's group enters the Pirate Cave with General Blue close behind.
At Red Ribbon Headquarters, Commander Red vents his frustration to Staff Officer Black. He built the army from the best minds in every industry, yet a child continues to outmaneuver them. He orders Black to make sure General Blue understands the urgency. Meanwhile, Captain Dark's Company B descends on Kame House in helicopters, expecting an easy mission.
Master Roshi steps outside to meet the invaders with casual disinterest, mocking the Red Ribbon Army with a string of unflattering nicknames. Captain Dark threatens him with a whip, but Roshi demolishes the entire squad with barely any effort. When the last standing soldier grabs Launch and puts a gun to her head, Turtle slides in and rubs a leaf on her nose. Launch sneezes, transforming into her aggressive blonde alter ego, who promptly beats the soldier senseless. Kame House remains safe.
Underwater, Goku, Krillin, and Bulma follow the trail into a vast cave system. They discover a skeleton dressed in pirate clothing, confirming they have found the legendary pirate hideout Roshi described. Excitement builds as they push deeper, but General Blue's mini-sub is right behind them. Blue reminds his soldiers to treat their enemies as genuine threats regardless of age or gender, vowing that all five of his targets will fall before the day is over.
Captain Dark's squad arrives at Kame House expecting a defenseless old man and a woman. What they get is one of the most powerful martial artists on the planet casually swatting away an entire military unit. Roshi's fight is effortless in a way that reminds viewers just how wide the power gap is between trained fighters and ordinary soldiers.
The Launch transformation is perfectly timed. Turtle's intervention with the leaf is quiet and deliberate, a stark contrast to the violent explosion of Bad Launch moments later. The soldier who thought he had a hostage suddenly finds himself face-to-face with someone far more dangerous than the old man he was trying to threaten.
General Blue's discipline in the cave pursuit is notable. He stays just close enough to track Goku's group without engaging, letting them lead him to both the Dragon Ball and the pirate treasure. His patience separates him from every previous Red Ribbon antagonist who rushed into confrontation.
Captain Dark's whip is an anime-exclusive addition; he carries no weapon in the manga. The manga also includes a follow-up scene where Bad Launch catches a retreating soldier and forces him to take his unconscious comrades with him, which the anime omits.
The pirate skeleton discovery marks the beginning of the Pirate Cave exploration arc, one of the longest dungeon-style sequences in early Dragon Ball. This episode held the highest-rated episode slot in tandem with the previous one, reflecting the audience's investment in the General Blue Saga.
