Goku and Trunks face the awakened Lord Luud, a colossal Machine Mutant with raw power but poor technique. Behind the scenes, the mysterious Dr. Myuu is revealed as the true mastermind, and he orders Dolltaki to sacrifice Pan to bring Luud to full operating capacity.
Lord Luud towers over Goku and Trunks, radiating incredible power. Dolltaki flees into the fortress while Luud prevents the Saiyans from giving chase. Goku taunts the machine, drawing its attention, but his Kamehameha barely makes the giant flinch. Luud swats both Saiyans to the ground and pins them beneath its massive foot.
Pushed to their limits, Goku and Trunks both transform into Super Saiyans and generate enough combined force to throw Luud off. Despite its overwhelming strength, the machine fights clumsily, unable to properly channel its abilities. Goku notes that the creature has tremendous raw power but no idea how to use it.
Inside the fortress, Dolltaki plays dress-up with his newest doll, Pan, treating her like a collector's prize. A summons pulls him into a hidden room where a screen displays the face of Dr. Myuu, the brilliant and ruthless scientist who designed Luud and commands the entire operation from afar.
Dr. Myuu berates Dolltaki for awakening Luud prematurely. The machine was not at full power when it was activated, and the Saiyans are exploiting its weakness. Even after Goku and Trunks revert to their base forms, they continue to outmaneuver Luud thanks to its inability to fight intelligently.
Dr. Myuu detects an exceptional power sleeping within Pan and orders Dolltaki to feed her to Luud so the machine can evolve to full capacity. Dolltaki refuses, unwilling to part with his favorite doll. His defiance costs him dearly. Dr. Myuu transforms Dolltaki into a doll himself and has both he and Pan absorbed by Lord Luud.
The sacrifice works. Luud surges with energy, its movements sharpening and its power climbing to a level that Goku and Trunks alone may not be able to overcome. The mastermind behind the curtain has made his play, and the Saiyans are about to face the Machine Mutant at its terrifying full potential.
