Family Bonds

Episode 38 opens with a desperate situation. Goku is bluffing his way through the fight, but Pan sees through the act and realizes her grandfather is running on fumes. She hurls herself at Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta with a barrage of energy blasts that have zero effect. Baby swats her from the sky and moves to crush her, forcing Goku to consider spending his last reserves on a Kamehameha.

Trunks arrives just in time to divert Baby's attention. The freed Saiyan prince takes a severe beating, but Gohan and Goten, now also liberated by Kibito Kai's Sacred Water, fly in to back him up. The three half-Saiyans create enough chaos to give Goku a moment to breathe.

Goku reveals that fusion will not be enough to win this fight. Instead, he needs his children and allies to channel their energy directly into him. Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta recognizes the danger and charges to stop the transfer. Goku counters with a Solar Flare, temporarily blinding the massive ape and creating an opening for Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Pan to begin pouring their power into his body.

Baby recovers faster than expected and prepares to annihilate everyone in sight. At that critical moment, Majuub breaks free from within Baby's stomach, reverting to his human form and attacking the golden ape from inside. He buys precious seconds until his own power runs dry, and Baby spits him out.

Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta fires a Super Galick Gun at the group, seemingly wiping out every last defender. Mr. Satan, unwilling to stand idle while others sacrifice themselves, steps forward to face Baby alone. He does not care if he dies. Then Goku's voice cuts through the silence.

The energy transfer is complete. Goku stands restored, radiating power beyond anything he has displayed before. He has achieved Super Full Power Saiyan 4, a state where every ounce of Saiyan energy from his allies fuels his body. The other fighters awaken and stare in shock at the intensity of his aura. Baby recognizes that he must destroy this version of Goku or face total defeat. The two ultimate warriors power up for the final confrontation.
