Goku senses that someone is targeting his life and spends his days on high alert. The assassin is revealed to be Hit, who has been hired to kill Goku and succeeds by stopping his heart with a single invisible strike.
The episode opens with a devastating image: Gohan, Goten, and Piccolo discovering Goku's lifeless body on the ground. The narrative then rewinds to show how events reached this point. Goku has been acting strangely for days, hyper-aware of his surroundings and trying to detect a hidden threat. He walks through the city with his eyes closed, sensing every presence around him, while Gohan and Goten trail him in disguise. His paranoia leads to comical situations, including wandering into a lingerie shop, but the underlying tension is unmistakable.
Meanwhile, in Universe 6, Hit carries out an assassination on a wealthy target, demonstrating his terrifying efficiency. Using Time-Skip, he walks through an entire building full of guards completely undetected and kills his target with a single blow to the heart. His next assignment: Son Goku. Back on Earth, Goku finally tells Gohan and Goten the truth. He senses someone coming for his life, and he believes it is Hit.
Goku slips away to a secluded location, transforms into Super Saiyan Blue, and confronts Hit directly. Hit offers to spare him if Goku disappears, but Goku refuses. Hit warns Goku to face him head-on, as his killing technique strikes from the front. Goku attacks, but his blows pass through Hit harmlessly. Hit then deploys his invisible strike, a ki blast that cannot be seen or sensed, stopping Goku's heart instantly. The ki blast Goku had been charging fires uselessly into space as he falls dead.
Few episodes of Dragon Ball Super build tension as effectively as this one. The cold open showing Goku's corpse immediately grips the audience, and the slow reveal of what brought him to that moment unfolds like a thriller. The juxtaposition of Goku's paranoid daily activities against Hit's coldly efficient assassination in Universe 6 creates a parallel that elevates both characters.
Hit's invisible killing technique represents a genuine evolution beyond his Time-Skip abilities. It cannot be blocked, dodged, or countered through conventional means, which forces the question of how anyone could survive it. The fact that Goku knows Hit is coming and still cannot prevent his own death speaks volumes about the assassin's skill.
This episode marks Hit's transformation from tournament fighter to his true profession: an assassin with over a thousand years of experience. The contrast between his behavior during the Tournament of Destroyers and his cold professionalism here reveals layers to his character that the tournament could only hint at. His offer to spare Goku if he simply vanishes shows a pragmatic side, yet his insistence on a frontal attack reveals a personal code of honor.
