Time-Skip

Technique

Hit's signature ability that allows him to skip forward through time by a fraction of a second. In that brief gap, he moves freely while opponents are caught completely off guard.

A Tenth of a Second Changes Everything

Time-Skip allows Hit to leap forward through time by a tiny fraction, initially just one-tenth of a second. During that skipped interval, Hit can move and attack freely while his opponents continue along their normal trajectory, completely unaware of what is happening. To outside observers, Hit simply vanishes and reappears somewhere else. The technique does not actually stop time; it removes Hit from the normal flow and deposits him slightly into the future.

For most beings, a tenth of a second is nothing. But Hit is an assassin with over a thousand years of combat experience and incredible speed. In that tiny window, he can close distance, strike vital points, and reposition before his opponent even registers that something has changed.

Vegeta, Goku, and the Arms Race

Hit debuts the Time-Skip during the Tournament of Destroyers, where he uses it to completely dismantle Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. The Saiyan prince cannot comprehend why Hit's attacks keep landing from impossible angles. In the manga, the technique's effectiveness decreases against opponents who are significantly stronger than Hit; Super Saiyan Blue Goku at full power becomes immune to it entirely because his power vastly exceeds Hit's.

Pure Progress

In the anime, Hit evolves during his battle with Goku, extending his Time-Skip from one-tenth to one-fifth, then half a second. Goku counters by using Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken, which pushes Hit to develop his time manipulation even further. He learns to create a pocket of stored time called the Tides of Time, an invisible space where he cannot be touched. During their rematch, Goku destroys this space with raw ki and a God Kamehameha.

In the Tournament of Power, Dyspo of Universe 11 counters the Time-Skip entirely by listening for the muscular vibrations that occur when Hit's body tenses up to activate the technique. Hit adapts by creating feints that mimic the same vibration pattern, tricking Dyspo into reacting to a false Time-Skip.

The Galactic Patrol Knows

The Galactic King identifies Hit's ability as Time-Skip immediately upon seeing it, suggesting that the Galactic Patrol has encountered the technique before. This is a fascinating detail, because it implies Hit is not the only being in the multiverse capable of temporal manipulation. The technique exists as a known phenomenon that law enforcement is aware of and has protocols for.

What makes Time-Skip compelling is that it forces opponents to fight on Hit's terms. Raw power alone cannot overcome it; fighters must either match Hit's speed, predict his movements, or find creative ways to negate the temporal advantage. It rewards tactical thinking over brute strength, which is why Hit remains dangerous even against opponents who far surpass him in raw power.
