Dallas-based voice actress whose confident, cool Android 18 became one of Dragon Ball Z's most iconic English-dubbed characters.
Meredith McCoy gained the role of Android 18 in 2000 with the Funimation dub and maintained that role for nearly a decade, establishing herself as the definitive English voice for the powerful android. She captured Android 18's sarcastic wit and cool demeanor while showcasing the character's growing humanity and devotion to her family. After relocating to Israel and being replaced for Dragon Ball Z Kai in 2010, McCoy returned to reprise Android 18 starting with Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and continued through Dragon Ball Super, bringing back the voice audiences had come to love.
McCoy is a professional singer who began performing at age seventeen and has sung with orchestras and touring acts across the United States, currently performing with the Dallas-based jazz and swing band CornerPocket. Beyond Dragon Ball, she has voiced dozens of characters in anime from One Piece to Fruits Basket and Fullmetal Alchemist, and has worked in national commercials. Her musical training and expressive voice have made her a valuable asset to the anime voice acting industry.
