Appearance

Manami's eyes swallow her face. They are enormous, tapered downward, dark-ringed underneath, with two long lashes trailing off each outer edge, and the oval pink irises carry a pair of circles apiece between pupil and rim, which gives them a nearly hypnotic quality. Long stretches shut in front of a monitor added permanent shadows below them. She is tiny, her round head oversized against a narrow body, and her raspberry pink hair goes up in two high tails, thick at the crown and tapering to blunt ends that curl upward near her waist, with a single bang cutting across her forehead toward the right.

The costume is elaborate. A broad white bow sits at her throat, matched by thick white gloves, and the indigo shirt beneath it fastens with oversized pink buttons and opens into long frilled cuffs. Her white pinstriped trousers balloon far past the actual shape of her legs, worn over dark tights and finished with glossy heeled boots. Hearts repeat all over her: in her earrings, in the buckles of the two slim gold belts at her waist, and in a wide panel spread across the front of her thighs.

Her Final War kit keeps the shape and swaps the details, putting a white long-sleeved shirt with the same pink buttons under a sleeveless indigo jacket, with a broad pink bow at the throat and small earrings to match. In middle school she was smaller still, near a young child in build, her tails cropped short, wearing a school-issued seifuku: a double-breasted long-sleeved top with a sailor collar, a short red tie, and a navy skirt. Eight years past the war her clothes are casual, a purple dress belted in red over black leggings and red shoes, heart earrings kept, and a wedding ring on her left hand.

Personality

Everything in Manami points at Danjuro. She films his crimes and puts them online, cuts a stream the instant he tells her to, and worries over him in danger even though she knows perfectly well what he can do. The love is literal, encoded in her Quirk and in an admiration that never wavers, and it is anchored in gratitude: he took her in and accepted her, so there is nothing she will not do for him. What angers her is the world refusing to notice him, and she held a specific grudge against the Hero Killer Stain for stealing the attention with a backstory video.

She was not always his. As a girl she poured a confession into a love letter for a different boy, telling him she was completely smitten. Falling in love comes easily to her and it goes deep, which cuts both ways; the boy rejected the letter and called her a stalker, and it destroyed her. She withdrew into her home with no ambitions left, spent every day fused to her computer, and thought about ending it. Danjuro's videos put the current back into her. After that, becoming a criminal alongside him was a price she never argued about.

The worship does not stop her from praising herself. She was quick to point out that her hacking was the linchpin of the plan to get inside U.A. Illegality has never troubled her when it serves him or brings her nearer to him, and the very first thing she ever did was break into his account for his address so she could meet her idol face to face, though she did apologize for it afterward.

Their partnership settled into a rhythm: he commits, she records and uploads. They talk openly about what drives them, she admires his ideas, and he values what her work has made of his reputation. The affection runs both directions. Eight years past the Final War they married and founded an IT firm called GeL Inc., its name built from their two aliases, with Manami as president.

Abilities

Hacking Prowess: La Brava taught herself everything, which makes what she does more impressive rather than less. Within range she can break into U.A.'s security systems and pull off work that only a serious technical mind could manage. Her ceiling sits above Skeptic's, and he was a Meta Liberation Army leader who had once taken over every television set in Japan. When he seized U.A.'s defense systems during the Final War, she wrestled control back from him and used the connection to triangulate his exact position.

Love: Telling the person she loves most how much she loves them hands them a power boost, and the size of it tracks the intensity of the feeling behind it. The limits are strict: once per day, and the effect expires after a while.

Lover Mode: Her declaration aimed at Danjuro fuels him for a limited stretch, scaling with how fiercely she means it.

Camera: The tool of her trade, used to capture Gentle's robberies and other work for upload.
