Gin

Tall and rather lanky, Gin has short scruffy hair, light stubble, and shadowed rings around his eyes, likely a residue of the terror and fatigue from the Krieg Pirates' ruinous Grand Line voyage. He wears an open gray-white jacket bearing paired red sea-serpent motifs. Beneath it sits a green undershirt; below that, gray trousers. A blue-striped gray headband crosses his brow, and two round earrings hang in each ear. While impersonating Don Krieg, he threw a heavy dark coat over the outfit to imitate the cape.

Two years on, his hair reaches his shoulders and his beard thickens; he adds dark sunglasses and a longer take on his old jacket, the serpent designs now gone.

Loyalty to Don Krieg governs Gin absolutely, and he executes any command however cruel without protest, which is how he earned the Man-Demon title. So great is his deference that he casts aside his gas mask and inhales the lethal MH5 gas simply because failure has shamed him. Unlike his captain, though, Gin keeps a code of honor: killing Sanji lies beyond him, since the cook alone ever showed him kindness by feeding him when he was starving. That single act of mercy hints that compassion had been largely absent from his life, and Krieg's tyranny is what chains him to such brutal service.

Little of Gin's origins is documented beyond his own claim that Sanji was the first to treat him decently. He joined the Krieg Pirates, grew devoted to their admiral, and built a reputation as a killer. He rode with Krieg into the Grand Line, where after seven storm-battered days the fleet met the Warlord Dracule Mihawk, who annihilated it with ease and left only the flagship afloat. Retreating, Gin broke away from the fleet in Krieg's guise so that Fullbody would give chase. Captured, he became a captive on the Marine officer's vessel, which happened to moor at the Baratie.

Freed and famished, Gin was tossed out of the Baratie by Patty for having no money, then quietly fed by Sanji. When Krieg regained strength he turned on the restaurant, and Gin was horrified. Later, commanded to slay Sanji, Gin refused and pleaded for the chefs to be spared; disowned for it, he was made to drop his mask and was poisoned when Krieg fired the MH5 bomb, having first tossed his own mask to Luffy. After Luffy beat Krieg, a tearful Gin knocked his captain out, insisted they accept defeat and start over, and carried the crew away by boat, telling Sanji he hoped to meet Luffy again on the Grand Line. Two years afterward, on Hachinosu, he stood with Krieg and Pearl as Vegapunk's broadcast played.
