Sons' Cups - Straw Hat Fleet is Formed!

Far out on the water, a pack of pirates joins forces to avenge the loss of the marketplace Doflamingo had operated, the very trade they leaned on, and they plan to loot Dressrosa should Riku hold the throne once more. Aboard the Yonta Maria, Bartolomeo sets up a sake ceremony meant to bind himself together with Sai, Ideo, Cavendish, Leo, Orlumbus, and Hajrudin, plus every crew under them, to the Straw Hats. After filling cups for the six fellow captains, he empties what remains into one enormous cup reserved for Luffy and again voices their wish to bond beneath him by drinking.

Luffy brushes the request aside, first blaming the taste and then owning the real reason: command over thousands would chain him and bar his road to becoming Pirate King. He reminds the captains that fighting Doflamingo together already forged a bond between them, and that he will rush to anyone who calls. As the enemy fleet opens fire, Orlumbus turns the threat over to Columbus. Fujitora's rubble then crashes down on the attackers, Pica's stone legs crushing what is left, and the admiral names it a farewell gift. Stirred by Luffy's hunger for freedom, the seven empty their cups and pledge themselves anyway, with Zoro draining the giant cup intended for Luffy. The crews spread out a banquet for the freshly formed Straw Hat Grand Fleet, and when Luffy frets that he cannot answer the gesture in kind, they explain it as a one-sided alliance in which they come whenever he wishes.

Out in the Flower Field, Kyros and Rebecca, touching skin to skin for the first time across ten years, clasp bare hands as the crews sail away. The adaptation slots in a scene of Luffy's foes uniting before they reach Dressrosa, shows Bartolomeo pouring out every cup, and runs a brief arc recap beneath the song Hard Knock Days. The manga had the attackers state their aims after their assault began, but the anime shifts that to when they first gather, and here Pica's statue legs flatten the whole enemy fleet rather than only part of it. A closing hint promises the new fleet a role in a pivotal future event.
