BulmaFuture Bulma is the alternate timeline counterpart of Bulma, living in the devastated world ravaged by the Androids. She is the mother of Future Trunks and the inventor of the time machine that enables him to travel to the past and change history. Her scientific brilliance and refusal to surrender make her the unsung architect of the series' most pivotal timeline interventions.
Future Bulma exists in a timeline where Goku died of a heart virus and the remaining Z Fighters were slaughtered by Androids 17 and 18. With nearly every powerful warrior dead, including Vegeta (with whom she had a brief relationship that produced Trunks), Bulma becomes one of the last remaining members of the original Dragon Team. She takes on the role of humanity's last hope, not through fighting, but through her intellect.
Her greatest achievement is the construction of the time machine, a device so advanced that even the main timeline's Bulma, given access to the same technology and resources, would have struggled to replicate it. Future Bulma builds it from scratch in a world with crumbling infrastructure, limited resources, and the constant threat of android attack. The machine requires years of work and can only make a limited number of trips, adding enormous weight to every journey Trunks undertakes.
After Trunks defeats the Androids and Cell in his timeline, Future Bulma enjoys a period of relative peace while helping to rebuild civilization. This respite ends when Goku Black appears, a mysterious fighter who systematically destroys what remains of humanity. Bulma once again throws herself into finding a solution, refueling and repairing the time machine so Trunks can seek help from the past.
Future Bulma is killed by Goku Black's attack before Trunks departs, making her sacrifice the catalyst for the entire Future Trunks Saga of Dragon Ball Super. Her death underscores the desperate stakes of the arc: there are no more second chances in this timeline, no Dragon Balls to bring her back, and no safety net if Trunks fails. Future Bulma's courage in a world without hope, and her refusal to stop fighting with the only weapon she has (her mind), make her one of the most quietly heroic figures in the franchise.
