Brushes with the Gendarmerie

The plane's crash proves to be a minor setback that requires only lightening the load by half. During the repairs, a Gendarmerie patrol flies overhead and lands to investigate. Glorio advises the group to cooperate and avoid a confrontation. The officers question each traveler about their home world, and Panzy reluctantly shows the Magic Collar around her neck, which marks her as a Third Demon World resident. When the officers ask if they have seen Goku, Glorio lies convincingly, and the patrol departs just as Goku returns from the bushes.

Once airborne again, Shin shares the origin of the Glind race, explaining that they are born from five special trees and that Glind from the same tree are considered siblings. Degesu remained in the Demon Realm because he never got along with his people, while Arinsu preferred the Demon Realm lifestyle. That evening, Glorio insists the group rest in a cave rather than push through the night. While the others sleep, Glorio slips outside to make a secret call to his true employer: Dr. Arinsu.

The Sparring Match

A territorial Minotaur awakens the group the next morning, and both Goku and Glorio volunteer to fight it. Their disagreement over who gets the honor turns into a full sparring session. Goku offers a handicap, fighting with one arm, and the two trade blows evenly at first. Glorio then deploys his Flash Bolt technique, firing crackling spheres of purple lightning that carve smoking craters into the ground. Shin urges Goku to take the fight seriously so they can gauge Glorio's true power.

Super Saiyan Settles It

Goku drops his handicap and pulls out the Power Pole, using its extending reach to catch Glorio off-guard with a clean hit to the stomach. Glorio retaliates with a lightning whip that disarms Goku, then charges an even more powerful blast. Goku responds by pushing into his Super Saiyan transformation, catching Glorio's strongest attack barehanded. He teleports behind the mercenary, ending the match instantly. Meanwhile on Earth, Bulma finishes repairing Shin's ship, but it crashes on its first attempt to launch.
