Baby Gohan confronts Vegeta on the road while Bulla is shopping. The Tuffle parasite reveals his origin and his vendetta against the Saiyan bloodline. Vegeta overpowers Gohan in combat, but Goten arrives as backup and creates the opening Baby needs to invade Vegeta's body permanently.
Episode 27 opens with Baby Gohan tracking Vegeta, who is driving home with Bulla after a shopping spree. When Gohan appears and destroys most of Bulla's new wardrobe, Vegeta sends his daughter away in the car and prepares to fight. He quickly senses that Gohan is not himself.
Baby takes this moment to reveal his true nature. He is a parasitic weapon created by the Tuffle race before their extinction at Saiyan hands. His purpose is to rebuild the Tuffle civilization by possessing other beings, starting with Earth. Baby also reveals that it was King Vegeta who orchestrated the genocide of Planet Plant, making the Saiyan prince his primary target for vengeance.
Vegeta powers up to Super Saiyan and takes the fight to Baby Gohan with commanding force. Gohan's body simply cannot match Vegeta's raw power, and Baby realizes he needs reinforcements. Meanwhile, out in space, Goku senses something troubling but remains focused on the Dragon Ball hunt.
Back at Capsule Corporation, Goten wakes with no memory of his possession, recalling only his date. When he takes a sip of water, agonizing pain shoots through his body. Baby's residual cells still linger in his bloodstream, reactivating his control. Baby commands Goten to fly to the battlefield and join the assault on Vegeta.
Goten arrives and offers Vegeta help against Gohan. True to form, Vegeta arrogantly declines. Goten floats to a higher vantage point, and the moment Vegeta turns his back, Goten fires a blast that slices the prince's cheek open. Vegeta recognizes that both half-Saiyans are compromised and powers up to his absolute maximum to knock them out.
At peak power, Baby launches from Gohan's body and enters Vegeta through the open wound. Baby spreads his cells through Vegeta's bloodstream, forcing Gohan and Goten to join his network as subordinates. Though Vegeta resists longer than any previous host, Baby ultimately seizes full control. Meanwhile, on the icy Planet Polaris, Goku recovers the final Black Star Dragon Ball, and the crew prepares to return to an Earth that is no longer safe.
