The Five-Star Dragon

EpisodeEp. 50

Goku and Pan find Rage Shenron, the Five-Star Dragon, in an abandoned city. Tiny but dangerous, this dragon commands electrified slime that can absorb and redirect even a Super Saiyan 4's Kamehameha. A timely rainstorm short-circuits his slime body, giving Goku the opening to destroy him.

Small Package, Shocking Power

Continuing their quest, Goku and Pan discover an abandoned city whose residents fled from a slime that absorbs electricity. Inside, they find Rage Shenron, the five-star dragon, who is barely taller than a steel can. Despite his comical size, Rage boasts that his abilities surpass anything a Saiyan can achieve. He demonstrates his Electric Slime, a conductive substance that electrocutes anything it touches, and then absorbs it to grow into a towering titan.

He reveals that the wish that created him was Master Roshi asking Shenron to revive Goku so he could fight Vegeta and Nappa. Goku ascends to Super Saiyan 4, brushing off the dragon's electrical attacks effortlessly.

His Own Attack Returned

Goku fires a 10x Kamehameha to end the fight quickly, but Rage Shenron's electric slime captures the blast's energy and hurls it back. Goku shields Pan, absorbing the full force of his own attack, and is forced to revert to his child form. Rage Shenron drains the city's remaining electricity to expand his slime body to massive proportions, trapping both Goku and Pan inside.

The dragon prepares to crush them, savoring his apparent victory. But the situation changes in an instant when storm clouds gather overhead and rain begins to fall on the electrified slime.

Nature's Short Circuit

The rain induces a catastrophic short circuit throughout Rage Shenron's enormous slime body. The surface area is so large that the dragon cannot scatter the slime fast enough to find shelter. Chain explosions rip through the electrified mass, and Goku and Pan retreat to a safe distance to watch the fireworks.

When the blasts subside, Rage Shenron returns to his original tiny form, badly injured amid the rubble. Goku and Pan ask him to surrender. He appears to comply, telling Pan she earned the Dragon Ball. But as she reaches for it, Rage attempts one final attack. Goku destroys the treacherous dragon on the spot with a close-range Kamehameha. The Five-Star Ball is recovered.
