With Pan trapped inside Naturon Shenron, Goku must choose between destroying the dragon and killing his granddaughter. The Hardest Choice

Naturon Shenron has absorbed Pan and taken on her power, becoming a Super Shadow Dragon. Goku faces the worst decision of his life: the only way to reclaim the Seven-Star Ball is through his granddaughter. He ascends to Super Saiyan 4, hoping the form's heightened aggression will help him push through the emotional barrier. Naturon panics, reminding him that any lethal attack will kill Pan too.

Goku unleashes a 10x Kamehameha, but he subconsciously holds back. The blast wounds Naturon without destroying him. The dragon mocks Goku for his weakness, and the Saiyan begins losing ground, battered and blasted across the battlefield until he is knocked through a building.

Playing Dead

Super Naturon declares himself the most powerful of all Shadow Dragons and the one true Shenron. He begins imitating the real Shenron's signature phrases, asking Goku for his wish. Goku does not respond and closes his eyes, appearing to surrender. Naturon, convinced he has won, partially releases Pan from his stomach to taunt Goku one last time.

Pan begs her grandfather to keep fighting, but her words seem to fall on deaf ears. As Naturon begins reabsorbing her, mocking Shenron's famous line about wishes being granted, Goku's eyes snap open. He grabs Pan and rips her free from the dragon's body. It was all a calculated deception. Goku deliberately let himself get beaten to make Naturon confident enough to expose Pan.

No Mercy for the Merciless

Without Pan as a host, Naturon reverts to his true form: a tiny brown creature whose head is barely bigger than his Dragon Ball. Exposed as utterly weak on his own, he scrambles to absorb a nearby bird, but Goku blocks his path. The Saiyan scolds Naturon for using others as disposable tools.

Naturon begs for mercy, then tries a surprise ki blast that does nothing to Super Saiyan 4 Goku. Disgusted by the attempted deception, Goku beats the diminutive dragon down and finishes him with a point-blank 10x Kamehameha. Pan is safe, the Seven-Star Ball is recovered, and the episode ends with Goku playing a lighthearted joke on his relieved granddaughter.
