Testing the Waters

Goku and Frieza face each other in fighting stances, then simultaneously power down. They walk toward one another and begin exchanging blows at a measured pace, each gauging the other's strength. On the sidelines, Jaco asks Bulma to confirm that Goku really defeated Frieza, and she introduces Vegeta as her husband, which startles the galactic patrolman. At the Lookout, Dende and Mr. Popo watch over Piccolo's body, hoping Goku and Vegeta will avenge their fallen friend.

Dirty Tactics

Frieza quickly escalates. He fires a ki blast toward Krillin to distract Goku, then rushes in with a flurry of punches while Goku's guard is down. The two trade blows at speeds that leave even Gohan and Krillin unable to follow, though Jaco can somehow track every movement. Frieza targets Bulma with another blast to lure Goku away from the fight, but Vegeta steps in to protect his wife. When Goku grabs Frieza's tail and warns him to stop targeting bystanders, Frieza sneers that playing dirty is simply part of revenge.

The Blue Revelation

Vegeta loses patience and kicks Goku from behind, furious that neither fighter is using full power. Frieza mistakes this for Vegeta returning to his service, which Vegeta answers with mocking applause. With the posturing over, Goku and Frieza agree to reveal their true forms. Goku goes first, concentrating his energy until a calm blue aura envelops him. The onlookers note that his ki has become completely undetectable, a sign he has transcended Super Saiyan God. On King Kai's planet, even the deceased Kai is stunned, noting that Goku achieved the god's power independently. Goku calls the form Super Saiyan with the power of Super Saiyan God, and invites Frieza to show his own transformation.

A New Tier of Power

Super Saiyan Blue's debut is deliberately understated. There is no explosive scream or planet-shaking surge. Goku simply focuses, and a composed blue glow replaces the familiar gold. The restraint signals maturity: this is not raw emotion fueling the transformation but refined, godly ki under total control. The form's most telling feature is that it makes Goku's energy invisible to non-divine senses.

Vegeta's Impatience

Vegeta kicking Goku mid-fight is played for comedy, but it reveals genuine frustration. He left his family and trained for months specifically for this moment, and Goku is holding back. The brief scuffle between them reminds both Frieza and the audience that these two Saiyans are rivals first and allies second.

The Duel Takes Shape

Episode 24 is structured as a slow escalation. The early exchanges at reduced power give way to Frieza's provocations, Vegeta's interruption, and finally the transformation reveal. Though the form is not yet named "Super Saiyan Blue" in this episode, the visual and narrative language make clear that Goku has reached a plateau beyond anything previously seen. The cliffhanger, with Frieza invited to respond in kind, sets up the Golden Frieza reveal that follows.
