Three Generations of Kamehameha

The Family Kamehameha combines the firepower of three generations of Son family Saiyans into a single overwhelming beam. Gohan and Goten begin by firing a Bros. Kamehameha together, then Goku appears and adds his own Kamehameha alongside them, tripling the attack's output. All three fighters channel their energy as Super Saiyans, and the resulting combined beam is dramatically more powerful than any individual Kamehameha. The technique represents the Son family's bond made physical, literally merging their ki into one unified attack.

Blasting Broly into the Sun

The Family Kamehameha was born out of desperation during the battle against Broly in his Second Coming film. After Broly struck Videl, an enraged Gohan launched a Super Kamehameha, but even with Goten joining in to form the Bros. Kamehameha, the combined attack could not overcome Broly's Omega Blaster. Goten desperately wished his father was there to help. The Dragon Balls seemed to respond, and a vision of Goku descended from the clouds to stand beside his sons. With Goku coaching them through the struggle, the three Saiyans poured everything they had into the attack. Meanwhile, a just-awakened Trunks hurled an energy sphere into Broly's Omega Blaster, weakening it enough to create an opening. The Family Kamehameha shattered Broly's defenses and sent the Legendary Super Saiyan hurtling into the Sun.

Beyond the Films

While the Family Kamehameha originated in the movies, variants have appeared in Dragon Ball Heroes and other extended media. In the Supreme Kai of Time Saga, a version involving Goku, the Future Warrior in Black, and Xeno Bardock created a "3 Generations Kamehameha" spanning grandfather, father, and spiritual successor. In the manga's Demon Invader Saga, Xeno Gohan, Xeno Goten, and Xeno Pan performed their own Family Kamehameha. The technique has become a staple in video games as well, often appearing as one of the most powerful team attacks available, emphasizing the idea that the Son family is at its strongest when fighting together.
