Cooler's personal variant of the Supernova, a massive sun-like energy sphere that charges significantly faster than Frieza's version. It nearly destroyed the Earth before Goku pushed it back.
The Supernova Cooler functions similarly to Frieza's original Supernova, with the user raising one hand to gather energy into a gigantic yellow-orange sphere. The critical difference, as Cooler himself boasts, is the charge time. Cooler can fully power up his version in just a few seconds, whereas Frieza's requires considerably longer. This makes the Supernova Cooler more practical in direct combat, as opponents have less time to interrupt the charging process.
Like its parent technique, the Supernova Cooler is primarily designed for planetary destruction or as a finishing move against particularly stubborn opponents. The sheer scale of the energy sphere dwarfs most other attacks in the franchise.
In Cooler's Revenge, the technique appears during the climax of Cooler's battle with Goku. After Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan and begins overwhelming Cooler, the tyrant uses a Death Flash as a distraction. While the smoke clears, he has already charged the Supernova Cooler overhead. Cooler flings it at Goku with the intent to destroy both the Saiyan and the Earth. But Goku fires a Super Kamehameha directly into the sphere, pushing it back toward Cooler. The reversed attack sends Cooler hurtling into Earth's sun.
The irony is poetic. During the Genocide of the Saiyans, Cooler watched from his ship as Frieza's Supernova destroyed Planet Vegeta. He spotted baby Kakarot's escape pod and chose not to pursue it, refusing to "clean up after his little brother." That decision cost him everything. The Saiyan child he let escape grew up to push his own Supernova right back at him.
Cooler survives being launched into the sun, though just barely. Only his head remains intact, and it eventually merges with the Big Gete Star, transforming him into Meta-Cooler Core. The Meta-Cooler form later uses a variation called the Metallic Supernova against Goku on New Namek in The Return of Cooler, though Goku escapes via Instant Transmission. The Supernova Cooler has remained a staple in Dragon Ball video games, appearing in Xenoverse 2, FighterZ, Legends, and Dokkan Battle as one of Cooler's ultimate attacks.
