The World Shakes! The Straw Hats' Hostage Situation

As the planet learns that Garp has gone missing and that a hostage standoff now surrounds Dr. Vegapunk, the aftershocks of the Lulusia Kingdom's annihilation reach across the entire world. With Admiral Kizaru's forces closing in around Egghead, York opens a line to the Marines and discloses that the Straw Hat Pirates have taken her prisoner.

Following Garp's vanishing on Hachinosu, the news travels to all four seas. Then a tremendous earthquake of unknown source jolts the world, with some attributing it to Lulusia's destruction, since the Mother Flame has carved a vast chasm where the kingdom once sat and seawater now pours in. The unprecedented quake brings tsunamis that drown beaches, the Kamabakka Queendom among them, and swallow entire islands, compelling their residents to flee. Kizaru's fleet, larger even than a Buster Call force, bears down on Egghead, and the admiral wipes out the Sea Beast Weapons as they strike at the ships. Sentomaru implores him to call off the assault, but Kizaru, while regretful, admits he is powerless in the matter and bound to follow the Five Elders' orders, adding that he finds Vegapunk's investigation of the Void Century impossible to defend. Saturn directs Doberman to sink the vessels carrying evacuating researchers out of fear they understood the work, though Jewelry Bonney is left alone, judged too weak to pose any threat. York reaches the Elders at Mary Geoise and confronts them over the assault, and when they resolve to kill her alongside the other satellites, she shifts their stance with an offer of the very facility that generates the Mother Flame, granting access to it in exchange for a request to be elevated to World Noble status, all while begging to be rescued from the Straw Hats holding her. The crew, meanwhile, prepares to depart, planning to use York to secure their escape.

This installment marked the series' return after roughly six months off, a hiatus that had begun on October 13, 2024, and it aired within Fuji Television's Premium Saturday block beginning at 9 PM JST. It debuted a new opening, Tenshi to Akuma, paired with a fresh ending theme titled The 1, and from this point Subaru Kimura assumed the Japanese voice role of Franky in place of Kazuki Yao. Alongside the broadcast ran an eighty-minute retrospective covering the opening stretch of the Egghead Arc, a program that carried no Japanese title yet was labeled the Egghead Sosyuhen Special by Crunchyroll. The episode brings in Chichilisia, Uholisia, Bluegrass, Tosa, Urban, and Pomsky as new characters.
