Role in the Other World

Olibu is introduced as one of the strongest fighters in the Other World, having earned the right to train under Grand Kai after his death. He is presented as a hero from Earth's distant history, and his feats during his lifetime are said to have inspired the legend of Hercules in Greek mythology.

During the Other World Tournament, Olibu demonstrates considerable fighting ability. He battles Pikkon in the semifinals but is defeated. His power level places him among the strongest dead warriors, though he falls short of top-tier fighters like Pikkon and Goku. Despite the loss, his skill and sportsmanship earn respect from the other competitors.

Olibu appears only in anime filler material and has no presence in the original manga. His character serves primarily to flesh out the concept of the Other World as a place where great warriors continue to train and improve even after death.
