Galactic Donut

Technique

A ring-shaped energy attack created by Gotenks that encircles and restrains the target. True to Gotenks' personality, the technique has an absurd name but is genuinely effective as a setup for devastating follow-up attacks.

Spinning a Ring of Ki

Gotenks performs this technique by raising his index finger and tracing a circle in the air above his head. This motion generates a glowing yellow ring of energy that hovers until Gotenks guides it toward his opponent. The ring descends over the target and tightens around them, binding their body and restricting movement. Despite the silly name, the technique demonstrates impressive ki manipulation, as Gotenks can control the ring's position and constriction remotely.

The Galactic Donut is primarily a restraining tool rather than a damage dealer. Its real value comes from setting up other attacks, keeping an opponent locked in place long enough for Gotenks (or an ally) to land something much heavier.

Buu Volleyball and Beyond

Gotenks first attempts the Galactic Donut against Super Buu, hoping to bind him and slice him in half. Super Buu powers through the ring and breaks free, much to Gotenks' visible frustration. Undeterred, Gotenks later creates multiple rings in rapid succession (the Super Donut Chain variant) and uses them as the foundation for one of the most absurdly named techniques in the franchise: the Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball. He wraps Super Buu in rings, compresses him into a ball shape, and literally spikes him like a volleyball.

After absorbing Gotenks, Super Buu gains access to the Galactic Donut and uses it against Ultimate Gohan, trapping him momentarily before charging a Kamehameha. Gohan manages to break free before the beam connects.

The Moro Arc Revival

The technique returns in Dragon Ball Super's Moro arc, where Ultimate Gohan uses it to restrain Transformed Moro. This creates the opening for Super Saiyan Blue Goku to land an Instant Kamehameha on the distracted villain. It's a satisfying team play moment that shows the Galactic Donut's value in coordinated combat.

Gaming Legacy

The Galactic Donut has been a consistent part of Gotenks' moveset since the early fighting games. In the Budokai series, it functions as an ultimate attack where Gotenks traps the opponent and follows up with a massive Kamehameha. The Budokai Tenkaichi and Raging Blast games feature the ring squeezing the opponent before self-destructing. The Xenoverse series makes it available to custom characters, and it appears in Dragon Ball Legends as a learnable skill for Shallot.
