Father and Son Reunited

Following Gohan's energy signature through the vast expanse of Other World, Goku arrives at the Sacred World of the Kai. He finds his son in the middle of intensive Z Sword training, swinging the massive blade with steadily improving form and confidence. Though the sword remains incredibly heavy and unwieldy, Gohan's movements are noticeably sharper and more fluid than when he first extracted the weapon. Goku decides to stay and assist with the training, using his decades of combat experience and keen fighting instincts to push Gohan beyond what solo practice could ever achieve. Father and son work together in focused harmony, with Goku calling out adjustments and Gohan executing them without hesitation.

A Monster Among the Innocent

Back on Earth, the devastation continues to escalate at a staggering pace. Majin Buu has already wiped out approximately two-thirds of the planet's population, reducing entire continents to smoking wastelands. During one of his destructive wanderings, Buu encounters a blind young boy sitting alone in the ruins of a village. The child cannot see the monster standing before him and shows no fear whatsoever. When Buu, on a whim, heals the boy's eyesight, the child simply smiles and thanks him. The unexpected gratitude catches Buu completely off guard and plants a small, unfamiliar seed of something the Majin cannot quite identify within his chaotic mind.

Testing the Blade

As Gohan's skill with the Z Sword improves noticeably with each training session, Goku proposes a practical test of the blade's legendary cutting power. Supreme Kai conjures a block of Katchin, the hardest known metal in the entire universe, and hurls it at Gohan with considerable force. The expectation is that the Z Sword will slice through the indestructible material like butter. Instead, the blade strikes the Katchin block and snaps cleanly in half on contact. The legendary weapon, the supposed key to defeating Majin Buu and the artifact that generations of Kais revered, is destroyed in a single catastrophic instant. Shock and crushing disappointment flood the sacred world as the broken halves clatter to the ground.

The Old Kai Emerges

From the broken halves of the Z Sword, a brilliant, radiant light erupts and a figure begins to materialize. He is the Supreme Kai from fifteen generations past, an ancient and eccentric deity who was sealed within the blade eons ago by a powerful adversary. This Old Kai is scrawny, wrinkled, and seemingly unimpressive at first glance, bearing little resemblance to the powerful beings Gohan has encountered. But his very existence hints at abilities and knowledge that could surpass anything the sword itself ever offered. What everyone perceived as a devastating setback may turn out to be the single greatest breakthrough in the fight against Majin Buu.
