A devastating energy wave exclusive to Vegeta's Super Saiyan Blue form. Named after the real-world phenomenon of gamma-ray bursts, this technique drains nearly all of Vegeta's remaining ki upon use, making it a last-resort weapon.
The Gamma Burst Flash combines elements of two of Vegeta's other signature moves. He charges ki in both hands using a wide stance reminiscent of the Final Flash, then releases the energy with his hands in an inverted position similar to a Double Galick Cannon. The resulting beam is extraordinarily powerful, capable of damaging opponents who significantly outclass Vegeta in raw strength.
The technique's major drawback is its enormous energy cost. Future Trunks explicitly warns that using the Gamma Burst Flash while already battle-damaged is extremely dangerous, as it expends virtually all of Vegeta's remaining ki. After firing it, Vegeta typically reverts to his base form, completely spent.
Vegeta debuts the Gamma Burst Flash during the "Future" Trunks Saga in the manga. After powering up and rescuing Goku, he fires the attack at both Goku Black and Future Zamasu, who have each individually transformed into copies of Fused Zamasu. The beam is powerful enough to blow both Zamasus to pieces, but their immortality and regeneration abilities allow them to reform and multiply into even more copies, leading to the emergence of Infinite Zamasu.
The attack's second major appearance comes during the Tournament of Power. With all three fighters nearly completely drained, Vegeta fires a Gamma Burst Flash alongside Goku's Kamehameha in a combined assault against Jiren. The combined attack is so immense that it warps the color of the entire Null Realm and forces every spectator in the stands to brace themselves. Despite this overwhelming display, Super Full Power Jiren survives with only moderate injuries and a destroyed shirt.
The technique's name references real gamma-ray bursts, the most energetic events in the observable universe. These cosmic explosions release more energy in seconds than our sun will produce in its entire lifetime. The parallel is fitting: the Gamma Burst Flash represents Vegeta channeling everything he has into a single concentrated blast, burning through his reserves for one moment of overwhelming power.
In Dragon Ball Heroes, it appears as the Super Attack for SSGSS Evolved Vegeta and serves as the finishing move in the Universe 7 Ultimate Warrior Unit combination attack alongside Goku and Gohan. Sparking! Zero depicts it as a short-range burst rather than a traditional beam, giving it a different tactical feel.
