A reality-tearing scream so powerful it rips holes in the dimensional fabric. Super Buu accidentally discovered this technique while trapped in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
The Vice Shout is performed by channeling all of the user's energy into a single, ear-splitting scream. The sound itself is not the weapon; the concentrated ki behind the vocalization is so intense that it literally tears holes in the dimensional barriers, creating portals between separate planes of existence. The portals are unstable and collapse rapidly after forming, giving anyone nearby only seconds to pass through before the rift seals itself.
This is not a technique that was developed through training or meditation. Super Buu stumbles onto it through sheer desperation, which makes it all the more terrifying. The idea that a sufficiently powerful being can scream hard enough to break reality itself says something profound about the upper limits of ki in the Dragon Ball universe.
After Piccolo destroys the entrance to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, trapping himself, Gotenks, and Super Buu inside, the situation seems resolved. Without a door, there is no way out. But Super Buu, driven to a frenzy by the prospect of never eating candy again, begins screaming. To everyone's shock, including Buu's own, his scream rips open a portal in the dimensional wall. Buu escapes through the rift, leaving Piccolo and Gotenks stranded.
Piccolo and Gotenks attempt to replicate the technique. Standard Super Saiyan Gotenks cannot generate enough power, but once he transforms into Super Saiyan 3, the additional energy is enough to tear his own portal. This establishes the Vice Shout as a technique that requires an extreme level of raw ki output, putting it out of reach for most fighters even if they know it exists.
The Vice Shout is significant because it violates one of the few established rules in Dragon Ball. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber is supposed to be inescapable once the entrance is destroyed. Mr. Popo says so. Piccolo banks his entire strategy on it. And then Buu just screams his way out, because the rules of dimensional physics apparently do not apply to someone with enough power and enough motivation. It is a perfect encapsulation of Dragon Ball's approach to limitations: they exist until someone strong enough or angry enough decides they do not.
