An electric shock attack used by Neiz, one of Cooler's Armored Squadron members, in Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge. It sends high voltage through the target's body to paralyze them. Piccolo turned it into a death sentence for its creator.
The Neiz Bind Wave is an electricity-based attack used by Neiz, the reptilian member of Cooler's Armored Squadron. Unlike conventional ki blasts, this technique sends a high-voltage electrical current through the target's body, numbing and paralyzing them. The attack is designed to incapacitate rather than destroy, leaving the victim helpless and unable to fight back while Neiz closes in to finish the job.
The technique fits Neiz's fighting style perfectly. As a member of Cooler's elite squad, Neiz favored debilitating his opponents before dealing the final blow, a strategy that relies on the assumption that paralyzed prey cannot fight back.
The Neiz Bind Wave's one and only use in the films became its user's final moment. During the events of Cooler's Revenge, Neiz attacked Piccolo with the technique, sending electricity coursing through the Namekian's body. To Neiz's great satisfaction, Piccolo appeared to be paralyzed. But when Neiz moved in to gloat and finish off his seemingly helpless victim, Piccolo simply smirked.
The Namekian grabbed Neiz and reflected the electrical energy back through his body using his own Electric Shock technique. The reversed current killed Neiz instantly, frying him where he stood. The scene lasted only seconds, but it became one of Piccolo's most satisfying moments in any Dragon Ball film. A villain cocky enough to think he had won learned the hard way that you do not underestimate a Namekian warrior.
Despite Neiz's extremely limited screen time, the Neiz Bind Wave found its way into several Dragon Ball video games. It appears in Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 (where it is called Neize Electron), Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2, and Dragon Ball Heroes. In Supersonic Warriors 2, Neiz performs the technique after being summoned by Cooler, making it part of a team attack rather than a standalone move.
The Neiz Bind Wave is a good example of how even minor movie villains in Dragon Ball leave behind distinct techniques that fans remember. Neiz may have died in his first and only fight, but the image of Piccolo shrugging off the electric assault and turning it back on its creator remains one of the franchise's great "did he really just do that" moments.
