A pair of tall, lyre-shaped horns in pale tan rise from her head, which is the first thing anyone notices. She is a small girl, just 155 centimeters, with a round face that tapers into a short equine muzzle and big Prussian blue eyes. Thick blonde waves fall to the middle of her back, with bangs cut shorter across her forehead. The horse traits run further down: her calves curve the way a horse's do, she stands on brown hooves, and a stub of a tail sticks out at the base of her spine.

Her costume leans into all of it. A halter crosses her head, its lead rope trailing loose behind her, and the rest amounts to a jockey's outfit, a skin-tight orange top with paler markings over the chest and stomach, orange trousers to match, and fingerless gloves tipped in the same shade. Belts cinch at her collarbone, biceps, and lower torso, and her boots protect the hooves while carrying stirrups on either side. The anime shows her galloping on all fours with Togaru Kamakiri riding her back, which suggests the stirrups and saddle-like build are there so allies can do exactly that when it counts.

She was born and raised in the United States to a Japanese family, and her Japanese is still incomplete. That gap gets her into trouble more than once, most memorably when Neito Monoma fed her a threat to shout at Class 1-A without telling her what it meant, and she delivered it happily. Frustration or surprise tends to knock her back into English mid-sentence.

The naivety sits alongside real diligence. In a fight she watches, thinks, and adjusts, and during the Joint Training Arc she deliberately ran the clock down for a draw once she accepted that a win was out of reach, refusing to be the reason her team lost. She is not uniformly sweet about it, either. She called Mezo Shoji an octopus during their match and told him she did not enjoy looking at him.

Her lasting mark on Class 1-B is anime. She and Manga Fukidashi bonded over it immediately, and the viewing sessions she started in the dorms are the reason her classmates know the medium as well as they do. Her room at Heights Alliance is packed with posters and figures, apples are her favorite food, and her April 21 birthday makes her the oldest student in the class. She eventually receives Japanese citizenship after the Final War.

Horn Cannon puts two horns on her head that she can fire off as projectiles, with replacements arriving almost the instant the old ones leave. She steers up to four at once by remote control, and their curve makes them well suited to skewering or pinning whatever they hit. She can also stand on them and let them carry her, which amounts to flight, and they lift enough weight to ferry other people around in the same way Hawks manages with Fierce Wings. That mobility puts her among the fastest students in her class.

Her third-round showing in the Joint Training Battle is the full display. She pinned Mezo to a wall and set up Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu's ambush on Shoto Todoroki in the same breath, then retreated from Shoto's Wall of Flames with Mezo on her heels and slipped every tentacle he threw at her. Doubling back to help Tetsutetsu, she met his Octoblow with Thunder Horn and nearly took him from behind, only for his senses to catch it. When Mashirao Ojiro moved in to restrain her and Juzo Honenuki liquefied the ground to break it up, she speared Mashirao's tail with two horns and hauled him off with two more, freeing herself and taking a prisoner. She admitted afterward that Mezo was beyond her regardless.

Her head is arguably the better weapon. She had mapped out the possibilities before the match started, correctly reading that a sensory fighter like Mezo would tuck in behind a wide-range attacker like Shoto, and split them apart before either could settle. With her teammates unconscious and Shoto in hand, she judged that she could not beat Mezo and simply stayed airborne out of his reach to burn the clock, a sound plan that the time limit turned into a draw. She is fluent in English and functional in Japanese, misreading the occasional phrase.

Her named techniques are Horn Dash Hammer, in which she grips a steel-bodied Tetsutetsu with her horns and hurls him at a target; Thunder Horn, a barrage launched while four controllable horns hang back for support and ambushes, which appears to require her to be stationary; and Horn Surf, riding her own horns for travel or escape, manageable on as few as two.
