The Saiyans waste no time establishing dominance. Nappa obliterates East City with a single blast moments after emerging from his space pod, a casual demonstration of destructive power that sets the tone for everything that follows. The two warriors then fly toward Piccolo and Gohan, whose energy signatures lead them straight to their targets.

Krillin arrives first, joining Piccolo and Gohan as they face the Saiyans together. The confrontation brings a startling revelation: Nappa casually informs Piccolo that he is a Namekian, an alien from the planet Namek. Piccolo, who has spent his entire life believing he was a unique demon born on Earth, processes this news in stunned silence.

Rather than fight the Z Fighters directly, Vegeta proposes a game. Nappa plants six seeds in the ground, and from them sprout Saibamen, small green creatures with power levels comparable to Raditz. Vegeta suggests one-on-one matches, treating the entire confrontation as entertainment. Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, and Yamcha arrive to join their allies, and the deadly tournament begins.

Yamcha's death is one of the most iconic and emotionally charged moments in Dragon Ball Z history. The image of his body lying in the crater became so widely recognized that it transcended the series itself, becoming a fixture of anime culture. In Kai's retelling, the scene retains its full dramatic impact while trimming the surrounding material.
