Tournament of Power

Saonel is one of two Namekian fighters chosen to represent Universe 6 in the Tournament of Power. He and his fellow Namekian Pilina have absorbed many of their world's Namekians through assimilation, dramatically increasing their power to levels that rival the strongest competitors in the tournament.

During the tournament, Saonel and Pilina primarily face off against Piccolo and Gohan from Universe 7. The battle between the Namekians is notable because it pits warriors of the same race from parallel universes against each other. Saonel proves to be a formidable opponent, matching Piccolo blow for blow in the early exchanges.

Saonel shows respect for his opponents, even acknowledging Piccolo's strength during their fight. However, despite their increased power from assimilation, Saonel and Pilina are ultimately overwhelmed by the combined efforts of Piccolo and Gohan. Both Universe 6 Namekians are knocked from the stage, contributing to Universe 6's eventual elimination from the tournament. They are later restored along with their entire universe when Android 17 makes his wish on the Super Dragon Balls.
