Spopovich

Spopovich is a human martial artist who was transformed into a Majin warrior by Babidi's dark magic. Majin Enforcer

Before his corruption by Babidi, Spopovich was an unremarkable fighter who had competed in past World Martial Arts Tournaments without any notable success. Babidi's Manipulation Sorcery exploited the resentment and frustration buried in Spopovich's heart, transforming him into a hulking, muscular brute with dramatically enhanced physical abilities. The Majin mark on his forehead signified his servitude to the wizard.

Spopovich's most significant scene is his brutally one-sided match against Videl at the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament. Despite Videl being a skilled fighter and the daughter of Mr. Satan, Spopovich's Majin-enhanced durability made him effectively impossible for her to damage. He absorbed her attacks without flinching and responded with excessive, sadistic violence that went far beyond what was necessary to win a martial arts match. Gohan, watching from the sidelines, was driven to near-intervention by the spectacle.

The beating served Babidi's purpose: it generated anger and fighting energy from the watching Z Fighters, particularly Gohan, which fed into the process of reviving Majin Buu. After the tournament, Spopovich and his partner Yamu ambushed Gohan to steal his energy using a specialized device. Once they delivered the energy to Babidi, the wizard had no further use for them. Babidi killed Spopovich by using his magic to cause Spopovich to swell and explode, a casual disposal that underscored how little the wizard valued his pawns.

Spopovich exists in the narrative primarily as a tool to establish Babidi's cruelty and the stakes of the Buu Saga. His beating of Videl created emotional tension, his energy theft from Gohan advanced the plot, and his disposable death at Babidi's hands demonstrated that serving the wizard was a death sentence regardless of loyalty.
