A mouth-fired energy wave used by DBS Broly in his Wrathful form. Broly opens his mouth, charges a green energy sphere, and releases it as a devastating beam that obliterates everything in its path.
The Gigantic Breath is a raw, unrefined attack that perfectly captures Broly's fighting style. In his Wrathful form, Broly opens his mouth wide and gathers a sphere of green ki energy as he screams. The sphere then erupts forward as a concentrated energy wave, carrying immense destructive force. There's no elegant hand positioning or careful ki manipulation involved. Broly simply opens his mouth and lets loose.
The technique represents the transitional point in Broly's transformation. It's the first major energy attack he fires after achieving the Wrathful state, marking his shift from a purely physical fighter into something far more dangerous.
In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, the Gigantic Breath makes its debut when Broly first achieves his Wrathful form during the battle on the Arctic ice field. The blast vaporizes a massive section of the ice cap, sending shockwaves across the frozen landscape. Goku, watching the destruction, reacts with genuine alarm: "If that'd hit the ground, who knows what it would've done!" The implication is clear. Even at this stage of the fight, Broly's raw power output is approaching planetary-threat levels.
The Gigantic Breath serves as the foundation for the more powerful Gigantic Roar, which Broly uses after achieving his full Legendary Super Saiyan form. Both attacks operate on the same principle, but the Roar is significantly more intense, powerful enough to push back even Broly himself from the recoil.
In video games, the technique appears under various names. Dokkan Battle calls it Anger Shout, while Dragon Ball Legends uses the same name for its learnable version. Sparking! Zero simply categorizes it as a Full Power Energy Wave. Dragon Ball Heroes gave it the official name Gigantic Breath and made it available to Hero Avatars through a wish to Super Shenron.
