We Are the Five Warriors

Fortuneteller Baba lays out the rules: fighters lose by falling into the lake surrounding the stage or by giving up. The stakes are the location of the final Dragon Ball, and Baba's five warriors stand between Goku's team and their prize.

Krillin steps up first against Fangs the Vampire, a muay thai practitioner with a deadly bite. After underestimating his opponent, Krillin finds himself outpaced by Fangs in bat form. Krillin's defeat sets the tone for the tournament, proving that Baba's fighters are no pushovers. Fangs' ability to transform into a bat and drain blood makes him a genuinely threatening opponent, and watching Krillin weaken from blood loss is unsettling for a series often rooted in lighthearted adventure.

The Upa and Puar tag-team is pure creativity. Neither has any business in a fighting tournament, yet their unorthodox approach, exploiting classic vampire weaknesses, turns the battle into one of the saga's most entertaining sequences. The image of Puar as a giant hand slapping a vampire into a lake is unforgettable.

Yamcha's frustration at fighting an invisible opponent is palpable. Every punch misses, every kick finds empty air, and the audience can feel his mounting desperation as See-Through pummels him without being seen.
