Inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Gohan achieves Super Saiyan for the first time after Goku pushes him to his emotional limit. Outside, Perfect Cell demonstrates his overwhelming power by effortlessly crushing Vegeta, while Future Trunks hides his true strength.
Deep inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Gohan has been training relentlessly for weeks but has hit a wall he cannot seem to break through. The Super Saiyan transformation continues to elude him despite his tireless effort and unwavering determination. Frustrated and desperate, Gohan challenges his father to stop holding back and fight him at full power, believing that a genuine life-or-death confrontation is the only way to shatter the barrier. Goku obliges, transforming into a Super Saiyan and launching a massive Kamehameha directly at his own son.
The blazing wave of energy bears down on Gohan, and in that terrifying moment of mortal danger, something finally cracks open inside the boy. Memories flood through his mind: every time he froze in battle when his friends needed him, every failure of courage, every moment of weakness that has haunted him since childhood. The fury and self-loathing boil over into something powerful and primal. Gohan's hair flashes gold, and the legendary Super Saiyan aura erupts around him as he deflects his father's blast. The transformation is brief but unmistakably real. Goku beams with pride and jokes that Gohan should probably get a haircut now that his hair stands on end. Father and son share a rare moment of genuine, unguarded laughter in the infinite white void of the chamber, a brief oasis of warmth before the battles to come.
The celebration inside the chamber stands in stark contrast to the horror unfolding outside. Krillin, consumed by rage and grief over Android 18's absorption, charges Perfect Cell and unleashes everything he has, including a Destructo Disc. Cell does not even bother to dodge. The attacks land harmlessly against his body, and he responds with a single casual kick that nearly kills Krillin outright, leaving him crumpled and barely alive on the ground.
Vegeta, still believing himself the superior warrior, steps forward to challenge Perfect Cell. The battle begins, and within moments, it becomes clear that Vegeta's Super Saiyan Second Grade form is completely outclassed. Cell toys with him the same way Vegeta toyed with Semi-Perfect Cell just hours earlier.
Future Trunks rushes to Krillin's side and feeds him a Senzu Bean. As Krillin recovers, he delivers a grim warning: Cell's full power has not even been revealed yet. Trunks watches his father being systematically dismantled by Perfect Cell and faces a painful dilemma. He possesses a level of power beyond what he has shown, a transformation he achieved in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber that surpasses Vegeta's. But revealing it would humiliate his father.
Trunks makes his decision: he will not step in until Vegeta is unconscious and can no longer witness being surpassed by his own son. Until then, all he can do is watch as Cell continues to punish the Saiyan prince without mercy.
