Goku to the Rescue

Tien Shinhan's body is failing. Each successive Neo Tri-Beam costs him more life energy than the last, and his physical form is visibly deteriorating from the strain. He can barely stand, let alone continue the punishing barrage that has been keeping Semi-Perfect Cell pinned in a crater. His muscles tremble, his vision blurs, and every blast feels like it could be his last. Semi-Perfect Cell, growing tired of the annoyance, prepares to simply power through the next volley and crush the human warrior once and for all.

Before Cell can close the distance, Goku appears on the battlefield via Instant Transmission. In one fluid motion, he grabs the collapsing Tien and the unconscious Piccolo, then vanishes before Cell can react. The bio-android is left standing in the crater, robbed of his prey. Goku deposits both warriors safely on the Lookout, where Senzu Beans are administered immediately. He takes a moment to size up the situation, acknowledging that Cell's Semi-Perfect form is enormously powerful. Yet rather than engage the bio-android himself, Goku tells Cell to wait just one more day. He is confident that the warriors emerging from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber will be more than enough to handle the threat. Cell, intrigued by Goku's calm assurance, allows him to leave unchallenged.

The Chamber Opens

Back on the Lookout, the door to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber finally opens. Vegeta and Future Trunks step out, and the transformation is immediately apparent. Both Saiyans radiate a controlled intensity that was not present before they entered. Trunks privately tells Goku that Vegeta achieved a breakthrough in the first two months of training, surpassing the standard Super Saiyan form entirely. But unsatisfied, Vegeta insisted they continue for the full year to push even further.

Krillin, returning from his own errand, encounters Bulma, who hands him the completed android shutdown remote. She then heads to the Lookout to deliver Saiyan battle armor for the fighters. Vegeta and Trunks suit up and depart immediately for the battlefield.

Cell's Rampage

While the Saiyans prepare, Goku and Gohan enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to begin their own training. Meanwhile, Cell has resumed his hunt for Android 18. Unable to sense her energy signature, he resorts to brute force, systematically destroying every island in the archipelago where she and Android 16 are hiding. Massive explosions reduce island after island to rubble and ocean spray.

Android 18 and the heavily damaged Android 16 crouch on one of the remaining islands, listening to the blasts grow closer. Cell is narrowing his search zone, and it is only a matter of time before he finds them.
