Father and Son Collide

With Android 20 fleeing toward his laboratory, the situation grows urgent. Future Trunks rescues Bulma and his infant self from the wreckage of her crashed aircraft and turns on Vegeta, furious that the Saiyan prince made no effort to protect his own family. Vegeta dismisses the concern entirely, caring only about locating the android and testing his strength against whatever challenge comes next. The confrontation between father and son lays bare the tension that defines their relationship across timelines.

When the group regroups, Bulma drops a critical revelation: Android 20 is almost certainly Dr. Gero himself, the Red Ribbon Army scientist who created the original androids. He appears to have converted his own body into a mechanical form, trading his humanity for the power to carry out his vendetta against Goku. Armed with this knowledge, the fighters decide to hunt for the lab and destroy Androids 17 and 18 before they can be activated. Vegeta, characteristically, refuses this cautious approach. He wants the androids awake so he can fight them and prove his superiority. He takes off alone toward the mountains, and Trunks follows to try and stop his reckless father.

The Secret Revealed

As Trunks chases after Vegeta, he inadvertently calls him "Father" within earshot of the group. The slip does not go unnoticed. With the cat out of the bag, Piccolo explains to the confused fighters that the young man from the future is actually Trunks, Vegeta and Bulma's son, grown up in a devastated timeline. Gohan and Krillin are stunned by the revelation. Bulma, on the other hand, takes it in stride and is simply relieved that her son will grow up to be good-looking.

The group splits up to comb the mountain range where Dr. Gero's laboratory is believed to be hidden, each fighter searching a different sector of the rugged terrain.

The Race to the Lab

While the fighters search the mountains, Gohan escorts Bulma, baby Trunks, and Yajirobe to safety. The remaining warriors fan out across the peaks and valleys, scanning for any sign of Gero's hideout. Krillin has a close call when Dr. Gero ambushes him from the shadows, but the android senses Piccolo approaching and retreats before delivering a finishing blow.

Time is running out. Somewhere in these mountains, Dr. Gero is closing in on his laboratory, and once he reaches it, Androids 17 and 18 will be unleashed on a world unprepared for their power.
