Ropes, Bombs, and a Chase Across the Sky

Back at Kame House, the group barely has time to relax before General Blue strikes. Hiding outside, he uses his telekinesis to manipulate ropes that bind everyone inside, including Master Roshi. When Goku struggles to break free, a rope catches his tail, forcing him to drop the Dragon Ball right at Blue's feet.

Blue collects all the Dragon Balls the group had gathered, plants a time bomb set for five minutes, and escapes in a personal jet. Bulma desperately offers to help him find the remaining balls, and Master Roshi even volunteers to join the Red Ribbon Army, but Blue dismisses them both and departs with a mocking farewell.

Launch arrives with barely a minute left on the clock. After untying Goku, he hurls the bomb out the window with seconds to spare. Goku leaps onto the Flying Nimbus and takes off after Blue, who is shocked to discover his pursuer survived. The high-speed chase leads them both over an unusual town, where Blue tricks Goku with his jet engines and sends him tumbling from the sky. Goku crashes into Penguin Village, where he meets a strange and cheerful girl named Arale. Blue, too smug to watch where he is going, slams his plane into a mountain.

Five Minutes to Destruction

Blue's ambush at Kame House is his most cunning move yet. By using his telekinesis from outside the building, he neutralizes everyone without a fight, including Master Roshi, whose failure to sense Blue's presence speaks volumes about the general's stealth capabilities. The bomb countdown creates genuine tension, especially since everyone is bound and helpless.

Welcome to Penguin Village

The transition from the intense bomb sequence to the whimsical world of Penguin Village is jarring in the best way. As Goku falls from the sky and meets Arale, the tone shifts dramatically from high-stakes action to playful comedy. Blue crashing into a mountain because he was too busy gloating perfectly captures his vanity and sets the stage for the crossover episodes ahead.

A Crossover Begins

This episode launches the famous Dr. Slump crossover, bringing Goku into the world of Akira Toriyama's earlier manga. Arale Norimaki and the Gatchans make their first Dragon Ball appearances here, along with numerous Penguin Village residents including Akane, Obotchaman, and Peasuke.

Blue's Two-Shot Telekinesis, a more advanced version of his psychic abilities, debuts here as he manipulates the ropes remotely. The episode also marks the first time the Dragon Balls are stolen from the heroes by a villain who infiltrates their home base.
