EpisodeEp. 70

The Ultimate Bio-Weapon

Having learned Cell's origins, the fighters split up to address multiple threats simultaneously. Vegeta departs alone, declaring his intention to break through the Super Saiyan barrier and achieve a power level that surpasses anything seen before. His pride still stings from the defeat at Android 18's hands, and he channels that fury into absolute determination. Future Trunks and Krillin head to the ruins of Dr. Gero's laboratory to find and eliminate the present timeline's version of Cell before it can ever mature into the terrifying creature they now face.

Beneath the demolished lab, they discover a hidden underground chamber housing Dr. Gero's massive supercomputer and a tank containing Cell in his embryonic state, a small bio-organic mass slowly growing in nutrient fluid. The sight is deeply unsettling: the tiny organism pulsing with life will one day become the monster terrorizing the countryside. Future Trunks and Krillin also find the complete blueprints for Android 17 stored in the computer's memory banks. They take the schematics and then systematically destroy everything in the underground facility: the computer, the tank, and the developing Cell organism. This ensures that no second version of Cell will ever emerge in the present timeline. Krillin delivers the blueprints to Bulma and her father at Capsule Corporation, who immediately begin searching for an exploitable weakness in the android design.

The Solar Flare Escape

Having heard everything he needs, Piccolo reveals that he is far from finished. He regenerates his ruined arm in seconds, the limb reforming fully before Cell's eyes. At that same moment, Future Trunks and Krillin arrive on the scene, and Cell finds himself surrounded. The bio-android quickly calculates the odds and decides that retreat is the wisest course of action.

Cell raises his hands and unleashes a blinding Solar Flare, borrowed from Tien Shinhan's arsenal. The white-hot flash temporarily blinds everyone, and by the time their vision returns, Cell has vanished completely, suppressing his energy so thoroughly that no one can track him.

A Growing Threat

Vegeta and Tien arrive shortly after Cell's escape, and Piccolo briefs the group on everything he learned: Cell's origins, his genetic composition, his need for the androids, and the stolen time machine. The implications are staggering. They now face a creature that grows stronger with every life it consumes and will stop at nothing to absorb 17 and 18.

Cell, meanwhile, has already moved on. He descends upon the nearby Nicky Town and begins feeding on its inhabitants, each victim adding to his ever-increasing power reserves. The clock is ticking.
