Kasai served as the series director for Dragon Ball GT, shaping the tone and pacing of the entire show. His directorial portfolio within the Dragon Ball franchise also included work as an episode director on Dragon Ball Z, where he oversaw 11 episodes, and on the original Dragon Ball series itself, directing 3 episodes. Additionally, he contributed storyboards to Dragon Ball episodes and provided storyboarding support to Dragon Ball Z episode 24, demonstrating his versatility in both big-picture oversight and granular visual storytelling.
Beyond Dragon Ball, Kasai directed and animated numerous beloved series spanning decades of anime history, including Gegege no Kitaro, Queen Millennia, and the Mahoutsukai Sally franchise. He served as animation supervisor on The Real Ghostbusters and worked as both director and episode director on classic titles like Ryu, the Cave Boy and Galaxy Express 999. His special projects included directing the theatrical films Mahoutsukai Sally and UFO Robo Grendizer tai Great Mazinger, as well as the Dragon Ball GT special "A Hero's Legacy."
