Babidi disposes of Yamu and Spopovich after receiving the stolen energy. Dabura launches a sudden attack that kills Kibito and turns Krillin and Piccolo to stone. The remaining Z Fighters are forced to enter Babidi's ship, where a gauntlet of battles awaits.
Babidi wastes no time demonstrating the expendable nature of his servants. With the container of stolen energy secured, Yamu and Spopovich have outlived their usefulness. The sorcerer orders their execution, and Pui Pui, one of his loyal warriors, carries it out without hesitation. The two men who terrorized the tournament are wiped out in seconds, their borrowed power meaning nothing against the forces they served. The casual brutality sets the tone for what the Z Fighters are about to face.
Dabura, the Demon King, then makes his move. He emerges from concealment and attacks the Z Fighters with terrifying speed. Kibito is killed instantly by a blast of ki. Krillin and Piccolo are struck by Dabura's saliva, a substance with the magical property of turning anything it touches to stone. Both warriors are frozen mid-motion, transformed into lifeless statues where they stand.
The attack is over in moments. Three allies are removed from the fight before it even properly begins, and the Supreme Kai explains that the only way to reverse the petrification is to kill Dabura himself. This gives the Z Fighters a clear objective beyond simply stopping Babidi.
Dabura retreats into Babidi's spaceship, and the remaining Z Fighters, Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, and the Supreme Kai, have no choice but to follow. Inside, they discover the ship is structured as a series of battle stages, each one deeper than the last. The design is deliberate: every fight that takes place within these stages generates energy from the combatants' ki output, and that energy feeds directly into Majin Buu's cocoon. By fighting inside the ship, the Z Fighters are inadvertently helping to power the very resurrection they are trying to prevent.
Babidi dispatches his warrior Pui Pui to the first stage. Vegeta steps forward to face him, eager to test himself against whatever the sorcerer's forces have to offer. The Saiyan prince's confidence is absolute, and he shows no concern about the trap they have walked into.
The spaceship's energy-harvesting design creates a brilliant narrative trap. The Z Fighters must fight to progress and save their petrified comrades, but every blow they exchange inside the ship brings Majin Buu closer to awakening. It is a lose-lose scenario that Babidi has engineered with precision, and it forces the heroes to choose between caution and urgency at every turn.
Dabura's ambush also establishes him as a genuinely threatening antagonist. The loss of Kibito, Krillin, and Piccolo in a single strike demonstrates tactical intelligence and ruthless efficiency that the Z Fighters cannot afford to underestimate.
