A Rivalry Reignited at the Tournament

The World Martial Arts Tournament descends into chaos when Vegeta, now under Babidi's influence, fires a devastating energy blast directly into the spectator stands. Goku attempts to deflect the attack but fails, and the resulting explosion kills several innocent bystanders. Panic sweeps through the arena as spectators flee in every direction, trampling over one another in their desperation to escape. The tournament, once a celebration of martial arts, has become a scene of carnage and terror. Amid the screaming crowds, Vegeta reveals his true motivation: he allowed Babidi's magic to take hold of him specifically to force Goku into a serious fight. Their rivalry, dormant for seven long years, has reached a boiling point that can no longer be contained by diplomacy or reason.

Goku's Defiant Declaration

Upon learning that Vegeta orchestrated this confrontation deliberately, Goku makes a stunning announcement to Babidi. He declares his intention to fight Vegeta, regardless of the consequences. Even the Supreme Kai, who desperately needs their help against Majin Buu, plants himself between the two Saiyans and pleads with them to reconsider. His warnings about the catastrophic threat that Buu represents fall on deaf ears. Goku threatens to go through the Supreme Kai if necessary, a declaration that shocks everyone present. The pride of two warriors has overridden all reason, all responsibility, and all awareness of the larger danger bearing down on the universe.

The Stage is Set

Babidi, eager to harvest the massive energy from their battle for Buu's revival, transports the two fighters to a desolate wasteland at Goku's specific request. The barren landscape stretches endlessly in every direction, devoid of any living thing that could be caught in the crossfire. When the wizard attempts to assert control over Vegeta through his magic, barking orders and demanding obedience, the Saiyan prince dismisses him with withering contempt. Vegeta may have accepted the Majin power boost willingly, but he answers to absolutely no one. His will remains entirely his own, bent solely on settling the score with Goku once and for all on his own terms.

Two Fronts, One War

With the battleground established in the empty wasteland, Gohan and Supreme Kai depart to confront Babidi directly at his underground spaceship. The stakes have never been higher, as the energy generated by every punch and blast exchanged between Goku and Vegeta feeds directly into Majin Buu's resurrection gauge. Both Saiyans power up to Super Saiyan 2, golden auras blazing and lightning crackling around their bodies. Their legendary rematch, seven years in the making, begins in earnest as the ground trembles and shatters beneath two of the universe's mightiest warriors locked in the battle they were always destined to fight.
