Super Buu's hysterical screaming tears a hole between dimensions, allowing him to escape the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. After turning everyone on the Lookout into chocolate, he feasts while Gotenks reveals his hidden power: Super Saiyan 3.
Trapped in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with no food, no candy, and nothing to destroy, Super Buu spirals into a complete emotional meltdown. His screams of frustration grow so powerful that the sound itself begins warping the fabric separating the Chamber from the outside world. To the shock of everyone present, including Buu himself, a hole rips open in the dimensional barrier.
Buu contorts his body to squeeze through the narrow opening before it closes. Piccolo and Gotenks are left behind, stranded in the white void. Back on the Lookout, Buu wastes no time. Overcome with hunger and excitement, he transforms every person remaining on the platform into chocolate and devours them all. The friends and allies who survived this long are gone in an instant.
Inside the Chamber, Piccolo and Gotenks desperately attempt to replicate Buu's feat, screaming with everything they have to tear their own dimensional hole. Nothing works. Then Gotenks decides to stop holding back. He transforms into Super Saiyan 3, a form he had secretly achieved during training but kept hidden. The raw power of this transformation is enough to punch through the barrier, and both fighters escape back to the Lookout. There, they find Buu surrounded by the aftermath of his feast, and Gotenks, enraged by the loss of his friends, vows to make Buu pay for everything.
The idea that Buu's tantrums can literally break the laws of physics establishes him as a threat that cannot be contained through conventional means. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber was supposed to be inescapable. Piccolo staked everything on that assumption, and Buu shattered it through sheer emotional intensity. No technique, no strategy, just raw unhinged power fueled by the inability to cope with boredom.
The chocolate feast on the Lookout is equally significant. By consuming everyone in a single act of gluttony, Buu eliminates the last safe haven the heroes had. The Lookout, which served as a command center throughout the saga, becomes a graveyard.
Gotenks' transformation into Super Saiyan 3 reframes the entire previous episode. His apparent helplessness was performance. He had the power to escape and to fight Buu on equal terms all along, but chose to conceal it for dramatic effect. This is simultaneously impressive and infuriating, perfectly capturing the personality of a fusion between two children who treat the apocalypse like an adventure.
The visual design of Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, with its flowing golden hair and crackling aura, mirrors Goku's transformation during the earlier Buu saga, drawing a direct lineage between master and students.
