Power Beyond All Limits

The Lookout lies in ruins. Garlic Jr.'s transformation has devastated the once-pristine palace, and the Makyo Star's influence has powered up Spice and Vinegar alongside their master. The two remaining Spice Boys demonstrate their new strength with a coordinated assault that leaves Krillin and Gohan reeling. Piccolo, meanwhile, fights Garlic Jr. head-on but finds himself pushed to the breaking point by the immortal villain's enhanced power.

Deep within the Lookout, Kami's condition worsens. The former Guardians' spiritual realm drains his life force, and staying conscious becomes a battle in itself. He fights through invisible barriers and spectral resistance, blasting through walls of psychic energy while Mr. Popo urges him forward. The cost is visible: Kami's hand begins to dissolve, and because of their linked existence, Piccolo's body starts fading in the middle of combat above.

The situation reaches a breaking point when Vinegar kicks Krillin off the edge of the Lookout entirely. Gohan races to save him but is intercepted by both Spice Boys. Watching Krillin plummet toward certain death triggers another explosion of fury in Gohan. He channels everything into a Double Masenko that incinerates both Spice and Vinegar simultaneously. All four Spice Boys are now gone. Above, Piccolo continues battling Garlic Jr. despite his body flickering in and out of existence. In a stunning display, Piccolo channels his energy to grow into his Great Namekian form, matching Garlic Jr.'s enormous size to fight on equal terms.

The Price of Being Connected

The symbiotic link between Kami and Piccolo, where one cannot exist without the other, transforms into a genuine tactical problem here. Every time Kami falters underground, Piccolo loses cohesion mid-fight. This mechanic adds layers to the combat that raw power cannot solve. Garlic Jr. does not need to defeat Piccolo directly; he just needs Kami to fail. It is an elegant way to give the immortal villain an advantage that does not simply boil down to being stronger.

Gohan's elimination of all four Spice Boys across two episodes firmly establishes him as the saga's true protagonist. Without Goku present, the narrative places full confidence in the son to carry the weight his father usually bears.

The Great Namekian Resurfaces

Piccolo's transformation into his Great Namekian form is a rare callback to King Piccolo's abilities from the original Dragon Ball. This technique, which allows a Namekian to grow to enormous proportions, was seldom used in Dragon Ball Z and would essentially be abandoned after this point. Its inclusion here gives the filler writers credit for digging into the franchise's history rather than simply recycling familiar power-up formulas. The episode also marks the final use of Piccolo's Multi-Form technique in the series, making it something of a farewell tour for his lesser-known abilities.
