The True Golden Frieza

Frieza wastes no time proving that his time in Hell was not spent idle. Facing the assassins from Universe 9 in his Golden Form, he reveals that months of mental training in the afterlife have eliminated the stamina weakness that plagued him on Earth. His energy control is now so precise that he can fight at full output without any drain, a refinement he calls the True Golden Frieza. The assassins, who expected to overwhelm a recently revived warrior, are systematically torn apart by Death Beams as Frieza treats the encounter like a warm-up exercise.

The situation escalates when the lead assassin deploys the Energy of Destruction, power borrowed directly from Universe 9's God of Destruction Sidra. This divine energy threatens total annihilation, capable of erasing its target from existence entirely. When the hidden sphere engulfs Frieza, it appears the tyrant has finally met his match. But Frieza was feigning vulnerability. With astonishing willpower, he compresses the Energy of Destruction back into a controllable sphere, killing the shocked assassin leader in the process.

Rather than destroying the remaining energy, Frieza uses it as a weapon against Goku, trapping him in the destructive sphere as a demonstration that their alliance is purely transactional. He then contacts Sidra and Roh directly, offering to betray Universe 7 and join their team in exchange for resurrection. Only the timely arrival of Beerus and Whis prevents the deal from being sealed. Beerus casually disperses the Energy of Destruction from Goku, then questions Frieza's loyalty with barely concealed menace.

Playing Every Side

Frieza's behavior in this episode reveals that he views the Tournament of Power not as a team competition but as a personal opportunity. His attempt to defect to Universe 9 is not driven by loyalty to any side but by a calculated desire to end up on whichever team offers him the best chance of permanent resurrection. The fact that he used Goku as a bargaining chip demonstrates his willingness to sacrifice anyone for personal gain.

Power Beyond Training

The True Golden Frieza transformation redefines what mental discipline can achieve. While Goku and Vegeta trained their bodies relentlessly, Frieza refined his mind in a place where physical training was impossible. His ability to compress and redirect the Energy of Destruction, something even Goku could not manage, establishes that his combat intelligence is evolving as rapidly as his raw power.

The Tyrant Unleashed

By the episode's end, Goku challenges Frieza to a brief duel to establish boundaries, with whoever lands the first punch earning the right to set terms for their cooperation. Their simultaneous punches symbolize the entire alliance: neither side can dominate the other, and mutual dependence is all that keeps the arrangement intact. As the Grand Minister completes the tournament arena in the Null Realm and the Zenos await the spectacle, Frieza's true agenda remains hidden. He plots to manipulate the anxiety of gods themselves, recognizing that a multiverse in crisis creates opportunities a tyrant can exploit.
