Teaching the Enemy

Cabba and Vegeta clash in the background while the spotlight shifts to Goku and the Universe 6 Saiyans. Caulifla approaches Goku with a blunt demand: teach her the blue-haired transformation she witnessed earlier. Goku declines, telling her she is not ready for Super Saiyan Blue, but offers to help her stabilize Super Saiyan 2 instead. When Caulifla demonstrates Super Saiyan Third Grade, the bulked-up form Cell exploited long ago, Goku patiently explains its speed disadvantages and guides her toward the leaner, faster second stage.

Caulifla reaches Super Saiyan 2 and the two begin sparring with genuine enthusiasm. Their duel draws Kale into the familiar spiral of insecurity. Feeling ignored by Caulifla and dismissed by Goku, Kale's emotional turmoil triggers the berserker transformation she first experienced on Sadala. This time the power is even greater. She attacks Goku with savage intensity, slamming him across the arena, dragging him by his face, and shrugging off every counterattack. Even Vegeta pauses to note that this might represent the true form of a Saiyan.

Goku ascends to Super Saiyan Blue and fires a direct Kamehameha. Kale walks through it without slowing down, grabs Goku by the face, and continues her rampage. Her ki blasts scatter wildly across the entire stage, eliminating Methiop and threatening everyone indiscriminately. Vewon of the Pride Troopers attempts to restrain her with his Justice Whip, but Kale snaps the binding and hurls him from the arena. Only Jiren responds with appropriate force, launching a single Power Impact that engulfs Kale in a massive explosion and knocks her unconscious. Caulifla catches her fallen protege, and Hit retreats with them as Goku and Jiren face each other once again.

The Berserker Unleashed

Kale's transformation is the most visually and thematically distinct Saiyan power-up in Dragon Ball Super. Where other transformations respond to rage or determination, Kale's is driven by feelings of inadequacy and abandonment. Her inability to control the form makes her a threat to allies and enemies alike, scattering ki blasts that respect no allegiance. The fact that Super Saiyan Blue Goku's Kamehameha cannot so much as slow her down places this form among the most powerful raw transformations in the tournament.

Jiren's Decisive Intervention

Jiren's response is the true revelation. While every other fighter either fled or failed to contain Kale, Jiren neutralizes her with a single calculated blast. He does not pursue, does not gloat, and returns to his silent observation immediately after. The contrast between the chaos Kale creates and the effortless precision with which Jiren ends it establishes the gulf in power that Goku will eventually need to cross.

Rivals and Mentors

Goku's willingness to train a rival mid-tournament says everything about his character. He cannot resist the opportunity to help a promising fighter grow, even when that fighter belongs to an opposing universe. Caulifla's rapid progression from Third Grade to stable Super Saiyan 2 in a single sparring session demonstrates exceptional talent and reinforces why Universe 6's Saiyans are considered dangerous despite their relative inexperience. The episode positions Caulifla and Kale as a complementary pair: one who grows through discipline and competition, and one whose power erupts from emotional extremes that neither she nor anyone around her can predict.
