The Long Ritual

On the Sacred World of the Kai, Old Kai's ceremony to unlock Gohan's dormant potential enters its final stretch. The lengthy process requires Gohan to remain absolutely still for twenty consecutive hours while the ancient deity circles him, chanting, gesturing, and performing rituals that look more like a strange dance than a power-up technique. It is a grueling test of patience for a young warrior who would much rather be fighting. Goku paces nearby, barely containing his own restlessness as he monitors the situation on Earth through his ability to sense ki signatures. The planet below continues to suffer under Buu's assaults, and every hour spent on this ceremony is an hour of unchecked destruction.

Super Saiyan Fusion Achieved

At the Lookout, Goten and Trunks make a critical breakthrough in their training. Under Piccolo's watchful eye, they learn to transform into Super Saiyans before performing the Fusion Dance, channeling their amplified energy into the merger. The result is a dramatically more powerful version of their combined form: Super Gotenks. The jump in raw power compared to their base-level fusion is staggering and immediately evident. However, the new and improved Gotenks is even more arrogant and impulsive than his previous incarnation, nearly charging off to fight Buu solo until the thirty-minute fusion timer expires and he splits back into two exhausted boys.

A Monster's Softer Side

Something unexpected and remarkable unfolds between Majin Buu and a small, injured dog he encounters during his aimless wanderings. The puppy's leg is badly broken, and it whimpers pitifully in the grass. Buu kneels down and heals the animal's injury with a gentle touch, demonstrating a capacity for compassion that seems impossible given his record of mass slaughter. Mr. Satan, watching from nearby, recognizes this moment as an extraordinary opportunity. He begins carefully and patiently working to persuade Buu that killing humans is wrong. Against all odds and all reasonable expectations, the strategy appears to be working. Buu listens, considers the words, and seems genuinely willing to change his destructive behavior.

A Shot That Changes Everything

The fragile peace shatters in a single devastating instant. A human hunter, seeking fame and glory for taking down Majin Buu, opens fire from a concealed position in the nearby hills. His bullets bounce harmlessly off Buu's rubbery body without leaving a mark. But the shots that miss Buu strike the small dog repeatedly. The puppy collapses, gravely wounded by the relentless gunfire. Buu stares down at his fallen companion with an expression that shifts from confusion to shock to something far more dangerous. The rage building inside the Majin threatens to undo everything that Mr. Satan worked so carefully and patiently to build.
