A Desperate Gambit

Across the planet, Goten and Trunks sense an overwhelming ki unlike anything they have ever felt. The sheer magnitude of the energy is disorienting, and dread settles over both boys as they abandon their original course and fly toward the source of the most powerful signature. At Babidi's underground ship, smoke erupts from Buu's egg with tremendous force, filling the chamber and pouring through every corridor. The ancient terror is on the verge of breaking free from a prison that has held it for millions of years.

A Desperate Kamehameha

Gohan acts on instinct, planting his feet and unleashing a full-power Kamehameha directly at the egg. The sustained energy beam slams into the shell with extraordinary force, and for several agonizing seconds it seems like the attack might actually prevent the resurrection. Supreme Kai watches with his heart in his throat as cracks spider across the surface. The egg finally splits in two under the assault, and when the smoke clears, its interior is empty. Relief washes over the Supreme Kai, who dares to believe the worst has been averted. But Gohan's expression tells a different story. He senses a colossal ki forming behind them, something ancient and impossibly powerful gathering itself together from the very smoke they dismissed as harmless. The celebration was tragically premature.

The Smoke Takes Shape

The billowing smoke that erupted from the egg does not dissipate as expected. Instead, it defies physics and logic, converging and drawing together into a single dense mass that grows more solid with each passing second. Colors swirl within the cloud, pinks and purples and whites, as a shape begins to form. From within that swirling vortex, a figure emerges with a childlike bounce in his step. Majin Buu stands before them in the flesh, his round body and vacant grin concealing an unfathomable well of destructive power. The creature that Supreme Kai feared above all others, the being that terrorized the entire universe eons ago and destroyed civilizations beyond counting, has been fully restored to life.

A New Era of Terror Begins

Buu's revival marks a devastating turning point for the entire conflict. Every effort to prevent this moment has failed. Gohan's battle through the floors of Babidi's ship, Supreme Kai's desperate warnings, and Goku and Vegeta's reluctant agreement to work together all came to nothing. The ancient Majin now stands free and unrestrained, his power radiating across the planet like a second sun. The Z Fighters must contend with a threat that once required the combined strength of multiple Supreme Kais merely to contain, not defeat. The battle for Earth's survival has entered its most dangerous and uncertain phase yet.
