Mission Accomplished

Trunks touches down at Capsule Corporation and frantically asks his grandparents about the Dragon Radar's location. Dr. Brief, ever the absent-minded genius, struggles to recall where the device was last placed. Precious minutes tick away as the elderly scientist rummages through drawers and shelves, oblivious to the life-or-death urgency of the situation. Eventually Bulma, watching the crisis unfold from the Lookout through telepathic updates, remembers that the radar is still aboard the airplane they used during their Dragon Ball hunt. She borrows Videl's phone and calls Capsule Corporation directly to relay the information. Trunks locates the device, stuffs it safely into his pocket, and blasts off at maximum speed.

Goku's Bargain

With the Dragon Radar secured and Trunks safely away from the area, Goku powers down from Super Saiyan 3 and addresses Buu directly. He tells the Majin that a warrior far more powerful than himself will arrive to challenge Buu in exactly two days. In exchange for this promise of an exciting and worthy fight, Goku asks Buu to refrain from destroying any more cities or killing any more people until that time comes. He also delivers a pointed warning to Babidi, telling the wizard that King Yemma, the judge of the afterlife, will ensure he suffers greatly when his inevitable end arrives. Goku then vanishes, leaving Babidi fuming at the missed opportunity.

Babidi Pushes Too Far

After Goku departs for the Lookout, Babidi immediately turns his frustration on Buu, blaming the Majin for letting the Saiyan escape without being destroyed. The wizard resorts to his usual tactics of verbal abuse, hurling insults, calling Buu names, and demeaning him at every available opportunity. In the past, the threat of being sealed back inside his egg kept Buu somewhat compliant. But with Babidi's control slipping and Buu's growing awareness of his own overwhelming power, there is no longer any leverage keeping the Majin obedient. A sinister grin slowly spreads across Buu's face as he processes the insults and announces, with childlike simplicity, that he has come up with a truly excellent idea.

The Wizard Falls

Buu grabs Babidi by the throat with one massive hand, cutting off any possibility of the wizard reciting the magical incantation that could seal Buu away again. Declaring with childish simplicity that he no longer needs or wants a master, Buu punches Babidi's head clean off his body in a single swift motion. The wizard who orchestrated the entire resurrection plot, who manipulated Vegeta's pride, enslaved powerful warriors, and terrorized the planet through calculated cruelty, is eliminated without ceremony by his own monstrous creation. Majin Buu is now completely and irrevocably free, answering to absolutely no one and following only his own chaotic, unpredictable impulses.
